Rubber necking

Snuffed out, the light; in the blink of an eye.

On route to a destination unknown.

Twisted, burning, entwined metal,

Tail back of cars drivers wondering what now.

People shocked, wandering, weeping,

Their reality in tatters, loved ones bereft.

uniforms rush from place to place,

professional in word and touch and look.

blue lights flash their message of reality.

Warnings rebound as memories once learned,

Distracted attentions as heads swivel.

By all means look, by all means learn.
