Creaking

What do you see when you look at me?
I’m not as young as I used to be.
Skin has wrinkles, hair turning grey.
I often need a nap to get me through the day.
I look in the mirror and I see this familiar face.
She looks a bit like me or glimpses of how I used to be.
Older though, more like my mum.
Familiar, yet strange. Yet I know it can’t be me,
staring back. I’m still 17….
